C1 CARDING KNIVE
Breeds with an undercoat need to have the loose hair removed regularly to keep the coat in optimum condition. With a The Sentinel Carding Knife, you can easily remove the undercoat to keep the coat shiny and healthy!
Strong, ergonomic and light
This undercoat knife helps to remove excess wool from the coat without damaging the top coat. Although it is called a knife, it does not actually cut. It uses specially shaped teeth to remove the fluffy undercoat, ensuring there is more space created in the hair follicles and the top coat can breathe again. Using this knife will also reduce moulting!
These exceptional carding knives are made of a unique mix of high-quality steels. While they are stainless, durable and very strong, they also stand out for their extremely light and ergonomic design. This ensures that you can work effectively and will not overburden your muscles and joints.
Sentinel offer a choice of a blade with finer teeth 9C1) and one with wider teeth (C2). The one with finer teeth is suitable for dogs having a double coat and shorter hair, while the one with wider teeth is ideal for breeds that have both a double coat and longer hair. Much also depends on the amount of undercoat. If the dog has a thick undercoat, it is best to take the wider version and do the finishing with the finer carding knife. Does the dog not have a lot of or a finer undercoat? Then you can also perfectly use the carding knife with the finer teeth.
